Hot summer days are best spent with a drink in your hand, right? Even though I don’t drink (read more about that here and here), this still holds true for me! I enjoy sipping on a little something while sitting on the back patio, and I don’t just mean my Caffeine Free Herbal Mocha Latte! At the end of a long day or on a hot weekend afternoon, there’s nothing more refreshing than an ice cold cocktail. Or, in this case, mocktail! It’s my love of cooling off with something fun that inspired this Ginger Berry Basil Mocktail!
What’s in the Ginger Berry Basil Mocktail?
The base of this shaken-not-stirred drink is ginger kombucha. Talk about gut health, am I right? The ginger in the ginger kombucha aides in digestion and the probiotics keep your microbiome extra healthy and happy! Plus, the fermentation involved in making ginger kombucha makes this drink nice and bubbly, just how I like it.
Seeing as it’s summer, it’s the perfect time to add some fresh berries to, well, anything! But especially your mocktails! That’s why I muddled some strawberries and blueberries into this recipe. Strawberries are an amazing source of vitamin C and vitamin K, and bring a little tart sweetness to this drink. Blueberries add some additional sweetness as well, but without adding too much sugar. Blueberries are also high in antioxidants, which help your body fight all those nasty free radicals you pick up every day. Basil balances out the sweetness of the berries and booch with a little refreshing coolness. Plus, basil is packed with vitamin A and K.
So basically, this drink is not only utterly delicious and refreshing, but healthy and nourishing as well! It’s the perfect non-alcoholic option for when you want a little more than water after work. It’s also a great option to serve at your summer parties for those not as interested in the boozey options! If you are looking to turn this mocktail into a cocktail, it would pair really well with vodka or tequila.
However you choose to spend your summer, make sure you’re loving and caring for yourself. And having a little fun, too! Stay satiated, my friend.

Thank you so much, Lisa! I’m glad you guys are fellow kombucha lovers! I’m obsessed with fresh berries right now, actually working on another recipe using blueberries as we speak (or type haha). I hope you guys enjoy!
Another perfect recipe! I’m trying to get into drinking kombucha because of all of the health benefits. What are your favorite brands?
I’m a big fan oh GT’s! I’d say they’re probably my favorite because they tend to be a little bubblier, and they don’t have added sugars! Plus they have a ton of flavors. I also really like the Healthade Pink Lady Apple and the Suja mixed berry!
Awesome! I’m going to give those a try😊
Enjoy!

It will be the perfect addition to your cottage weekend! Also, a weekend at a cottage sounds lovely!
It’s like the perfect summerdrink! I’m gonna try this recipe as soon as I figure out where I can get som ginger kambucha.
I find mine at the regular grocery store here in town! I tend to use GT’s or Kevitas as they are fizzy, taste great, and don’t have a ton of sugar!
